It’s good to be back. After a month of various adventures, I felt compelled to enter a new post. After not expecting the night to come to fruition, two of the four L&S members (dissertation duty and alone time claimed Nicole and Justine) ventured to the far away land of families and place where everything closes at 6pm, St. Paul.
Fortunately, one very lovely establishment, the TH as it will be referred to, stays open to the dangerous hour of 2am.
Arriving with a set of low expectations, in terms of crowd size, music selection and amount of people we would know, we were pleasantly surprised to see the world’s cutest couple throwing some darts. Apparently it was team uniform night with many people wearing matching uniforms, whether it be a P. Diddy white party look or straight up softball outfit, uniforms were just about the norm.
After playing a game of darts that lasted about as long as the first 32 years of my life, we made our way to the dance floor. Immediately, Austin found a dance partner, while our cute friends performed a spot on dance/lip sync routine to Danity Kane’s Damaged. I felt a little lost without my usual dance partner Nicole but she sent me an inspirational text message that I took to heart, and the rest of the night was a social experiment in sweating and grinding.
The night also included some dodging and weaving of a girl in suspenders, who managed to pin almost anyone in her vicinity up against the wall. Unfortunately, that task was more difficult than anticipated as most unsuspecting people ended up in her clutches looking bewildered.
As we poured out into the street, sweatier and more fulfilled than when we entered, we said our goodbyes and contemplated whether we could pull off a team uniform. Austin in baller shorts? I will let you ponder that until our next post.
