Episode 1.3 -- Barriers at Barrio and Beyond

In this week’s episode we find the cast attempting yet another impossible feat - meeting eligible single people out on Valentine’s night. The girls began their evening in typical PBR fashion and found themselves at the Casting Call for their own show. After an anonymous gentleman (the last of his kind to be seen that night) paid for their cab, the super awesome foursome entered Barrio with high hopes for what cupid had in store this year. Their expectations were quickly squelched. The crowd was sub-par at best, “douchey” to be more precise. If it weren’t for the above-par tequila they probably would have left post-haste. The Vibemaster was quick to accurately assess the situation and suggest a change of location.

Next door at The Local, the night took a turn for the more interesting (better or worse? It’s hard to say). While our resident brunette exchanged inquisitive glances with our guest star (this week played by Evan- aka “Shoe guy”), our loquacious blonde was busy insulting a creepy Italian suitor and discussing threesomes with an overly friendly couple. The Socialista, exhausted from recent travel, was having an uncharacteristically quiet evening and, spotting no “bad-ass punks” at this establishment had an appropriately boring conversation with “Silent Bob”. Meanwhile, the bedazzled blonde was living up to her firecrackin’ reputation by chatting up a sea of men, all of whom she was overly qualified for. Several beverages and an inside-out coat later, the crew was in a cab on their way home. Each one to wind-up alone in their own beds...and all the better for it.

[Cut to Country Bar- (site of next casting call)]

In the background, the talented and charming karaoke operator bellows the dance tune “Better Off Alone” At the bar, Austin turns to her friends with a realization: “Ahhh...that’s why you don’t wait for someone to pick you”. Evan agrees from behind his greasy chicken wing, “Yeah, you just end up getting hit on by girls” and Emily adds, “or by boys”.

The sentiment of having met all the wrong people that night culminates when Justine realizes she had spent her time talking to “the quiet one”. Nicole puts it all in perspective with her endless insight, “We should’ve gone to The Bulldog, where we don’t talk to anyone except each other”
